Where They Started

Joshua Mohr at Essence Body Art has been a CHC client for a few years now, and his business has grown a lot in that time. When we built his original Squarespace site, the goal was to give him a professional digital home that matched the quality of his work and helped new clients in Eau Claire find him. It did exactly that.

But as Essence Body Art kept growing and earning its reputation as one of the best piercing studios in the Chippewa Valley, something started to show. There was no defined color palette, no logo variations to pull from, and no brand guidelines to keep things consistent when new materials came up. The site itself was still doing its job. The brand underneath it just needed a real foundation.

What We Built

Before we touched the site, we built the brand. Joshua now has a full logo suite with primary, secondary, and icon-only variations, a defined color palette and typography system, and a brand guidelines document he can reference any time something new comes up. No more second-guessing which logo file to use or what color goes where.

With that foundation in place, we reskinned the Squarespace site from top to bottom. The updated look is cleaner and more elevated throughout, with every design decision tied back to the new brand system. The result is a site that feels cohesive and that finally matches the caliber of the studio Joshua has spent years building.

The original site brought Essence Body Art online and helped it get found. This version makes sure everything that comes next looks just as intentional.

How It's Working

The site just launched, and we're excited to watch it do its thing. What's already true: Joshua has a brand he can actually build on. A logo suite, a color system, guidelines to keep it consistent. That kind of foundation doesn't just help the website — it makes every future touchpoint easier, from business cards to social media to whatever comes next for Essence Body Art.
