Where They Started

Converge Media is a nonprofit radio station and media company doing meaningful work for the Chippewa Valley. Their website just wasn't keeping up with the brand they'd built everywhere else. The colors, typography, and overall feel on the site were a few steps removed from who Converge Media actually is, and the homepage felt flat in a way that didn't represent a team creating live radio and community media every day.

A couple of structural things were also making their lives harder than they needed to be. Every program on the station had its own standalone page, and the programs listing page had to be manually updated every time something changed. That is a lot of upkeep for a small nonprofit team.

What We Built

Because this was a non-profit on a budget, we scoped it to the updates that would make the biggest difference without a full rebuild. We swapped in Converge Media's real brand colors and typography across the site so the visual identity is consistent from top to bottom, and reformatted the homepage sections to feel more dynamic. A media company's website should look alive, not static.

The biggest structural win was rebuilding their programs page using Squarespace's portfolio tool. Now every program pulls from a single source, so when something changes, the listing updates on its own instead of needing to be touched in two places. We also put foundational SEO meta titles and descriptions in place so search engines have a better shot at connecting the right people to the station.

How It's Working

The site now reads as an extension of Converge Media's brand instead of a separate thing sitting alongside it. The homepage feels dynamic where it used to feel flat, and the programs page is one of those quiet background wins that keeps paying off every time they add or change a show. Their website is doing its job now, representing the nonprofit and the community it serves.
