How to Build a Squarespace Landing Page That Brings In Business
What's in this post: Hide
You just launched a new package, a workshop, a new product, or a holiday gift card special, and you need one spot to send people. Your homepage is busy doing ten jobs at once, and an Instagram post scrolls away by tomorrow if it’s seen at all. A Squarespace landing page gives that one offer its own home, with one message and one clear next step.
You don't need Leadpages or ClickFunnels to build one, either. Squarespace already has every piece you need, and this guide walks you through what to put on the page, how to set it up click by click, and the small details that help a sales funnel page bring in bookings, sales, and sign-ups.
Quick answer: To build a Squarespace landing page, add a new page to the Not Linked section of your Pages panel and build it with sections that move a visitor from headline to offer to proof to one call-to-action button. Connect that button to your booking calendar, checkout, or sign-up form, hide the header and footer so nothing pulls people away, and test it on your phone before you share the link.
What Is a Squarespace Landing Page?
A landing page is a single page built around one goal. Someone clicks an ad, an email link, or the link in your bio, "lands" on the page, and everything on it points them toward one action, like booking a consult, buying a product, or grabbing your free guide.
You'll hear a few names for this, and they overlap a lot.
Landing page. A focused page with one goal, often a sign-up or an inquiry.
Sales page. A longer landing page that explains a paid offer in detail and ends at checkout or booking.
Sales funnel. The whole path a person takes, from the post or ad they saw, to your landing page, to the form or checkout, to the thank-you page and the follow-up email.
Landing pages also work beautifully for one specific product. If you sell a signature skincare set, a gift card bundle, or a digital course, a page built just for that product gives it room to shine with photos, details, reviews, and a buy button, instead of sitting in a grid with everything else in your shop.
In Squarespace, all three are built the same way. A landing page is a regular page with a few settings changed, so the tools you already use to edit your site are the tools you'll use here. If you want inspiration before you start, Squarespace has a helpful roundup of landing page examples for salons, restaurants, events, and more.
Why a Landing Page Works Harder Than Your Homepage
Your website should be your best employee. Your homepage is the front desk person, greeting everyone and pointing them toward your services, your story, the blog, and your contact page. That's a lot of doors to choose from.
A landing page is the specialist you bring in for one job. When someone shows up already curious about your new facial package or your January workshop, they don't need the full tour. They need the details, a reason to trust you, and a button.
That focus helps you in a few practical ways.
More people take the next step, because there's only one step to take.
Your ad money goes further, since paid clicks go straight to the offer instead of your homepage.
You can see what's working. One page per offer makes your Squarespace analytics much easier to read.
What to Put on a Squarespace Sales Page
Most good sales pages follow the same order, because it matches the questions a visitor is already asking in their head. Start with this outline and trim what your offer doesn't need. A free guide sign-up might only need the first three sections and a form, while a $1,200 coaching package will want all of them.
Headline and button. Say what the offer is and who it's for in one line. Add a short supporting sentence and put your main button right there at the top.
The "this is you" section. Describe the situation your ideal client is in, using their words. This is the part that makes people feel understood.
The offer. Share what's included, how long it takes, and what's different for them afterward.
How it works. Lay out three or four simple steps, from booking to the finished result.
Proof. Add testimonials, reviews, before-and-after photos, or a short client story. Real names and faces help a lot.
Pricing. Be clear. A visitor who has to hunt for the price usually leaves to find it somewhere else.
FAQs. Squarespace's Accordion block is perfect here, since it keeps the page tidy while answering the questions that stop people from booking.
Final call to action. Repeat your main button with one sentence that reminds them why it's worth it.
A softer backup option. Not everyone is ready to buy today. A newsletter sign-up or a "send us a question" link keeps them close.
Repeat your main button every two or three sections so nobody has to scroll back up to find it. Every one of those buttons should go to the same place.
Start With Saved Sections and Saved Pages (Chasing Honey Clients, This Part's for You!)
If we built your website together, you don't have to start from a blank page. When I build a client site, I usually save a set of sections that are already styled for you, with your fonts, brand colors, button styles, and spacing all set. Think of them as a page creation kit made just for your business.
To use them, open your new page and click Add Section. Choose the My Saved Sections tab, pick the section you need, and swap in your own words and photos. Your new page will look like it belongs with the rest of your site without you touching a single design setting.
Squarespace now lets you save whole pages too, so you don't have to start from scratch at all. Once you have a landing page you love, save it and use it as the starting point for your next one. It's a great way to keep every page on your site consistently organized and styled, whether you're promoting a service, an event, or a single product.
If you can't find them or aren't sure which ones you have, send me a quick message and I'll point you in the right direction.
Not a client yet? Squarespace's built-in section layouts are a great starting point. Once you style a section you love, hover over it and click the heart icon to save it, and your next landing page will come together even faster.
How to Build a Landing Page in Squarespace, Step by Step
These steps are for Squarespace 7.1, which is what most current sites run on. Set aside an hour or two for your first one. The second one goes much faster.
Add a new page. In the Pages panel, scroll down to Not Linked and click the + icon. Choose a saved page if you have one, or a blank page or page layout. Pages in Not Linked are live on your site but stay out of your main menu, which is exactly what you want for a campaign page.
Give it a clean URL. Click the gear icon next to the page name and set a short, simple URL slug like /spring-facial or /free-guide. You'll be sharing this link a lot, so keep it easy to type.
Build your sections. Click Edit, then Add Section, and work top to bottom through the outline above (starting with your saved sections if you have them). Alternate background colors between sections so the page is easy to scan.
Connect your buttons. Click each button and link it to your Squarespace Scheduling page, a product or checkout page, an outside booking tool, or a form further down the page. To jump to a form on the same page, open that section's settings, fill in the Anchor Link field, and paste the copied link into your button.
Hide the header and footer. Fewer links mean fewer ways to wander off before booking. Squarespace now has an easy built in tool to turn these off under the page settings, navigation tab.
Set up your form and thank-you page. If the page collects sign-ups, add a Form block and connect it to Squarespace Email Campaigns, Mailchimp, or Google Drive in the form's storage settings. Then create a simple thank-you page (also in Not Linked) and send people there after they submit, using the form's post-submit settings.
Fill in your SEO title and description. In page settings, open the SEO tab and write a page title and description for this offer. If the page is only for an ad campaign or a private client group, you can turn on the option to hide it from search results.
Check it on mobile. Use the mobile preview toggle at the top of the editor. Most of your visitors will see this page on a phone, so look for text that's too small, buttons that are hard to tap, and photos that crop strangely.
Test everything. Click every button, submit your own form, and run a test booking. Then share that link!
Common Squarespace Landing Page Mistakes (And Easy Fixes)
None of these are a big deal, and every one of them takes just a few minutes to fix.
Buttons that go to different places. "Book now," "Learn more," and "Follow us" competing for attention splits your visitor's focus. Pick one main action and point every button there.
Leaving the full menu up. Your main menu invites people to go read your About page instead of booking. Hide the header using the page settings under the navigation tab.
Hiding the price. If someone has to email you to find out what it costs, many won't bother. Even a "starting at" price helps.
Skipping the thank-you page. A plain "Thank you!" under the form is a missed chance. A thank-you page can tell people what happens next, and it gives you a page to track sign-ups in your analytics.
Forgetting the phone check. A page that looks beautiful on your laptop can feel cramped on a phone. Preview it on mobile every single time.
Leaving the SEO title blank. Even a short campaign page shows up in link previews when you text or share it. A clear title and description make that preview look intentional.
What to Do Next
Pick one offer you're promoting in the next month and build its landing page first. Start with the headline, one clear button, and three or four of the sections above. You can add testimonials and FAQs once it's live.
Then put that link everywhere the offer shows up, like your Instagram bio, your email newsletter, your Google Business Profile, and any ads you're running. That's your sales funnel, and it's simpler than it sounds. If you love data, consider also setting up a UTM per channel you market on.
