How to Push New Blog Posts to Google Search Console (And Why It Matters)

Writing blog posts is amazing. Doing it regularly? Even better. But here's what takes you from good to great: actually telling Google your new content exists.

Think of it this way - you wouldn't open a new storefront without putting up a sign. Same logic applies here.

What's Inside This Post:

What Is Google Search Console (And Why Should You Care)?

Google Search Console is a free tool that shows you how your content appears in search results and helps Google find and index your pages. Translation: it helps Google understand what's on your website so people can actually find you.

The best part? If you're on Squarespace, it integrates directly with your analytics. Setup takes about five minutes, and then you can flag each new blog post with just one toggle switch.

How to Connect Google Search Console to Your Squarespace Site

First things first - you need to link your website to Google Search Console through Squarespace Analytics. Once that's done (and it really is straightforward), you're ready to start pushing posts.

Flagging New Posts: Two Ways to Do It

Option 1: From Inside the Post

When you're editing a post, look at the top where you see the post title and status (like "draft"). Click that area to open the post settings.

Under "Share," you'll see an option for Google Search Console. Turn the toggle on. That's it.

Google will automatically grab your post title and URL when you hit publish. Even if you schedule the post for later, you can enable this now and it'll handle the rest when the time comes.

Option 2: From Outside the Post

If you're not in edit mode, click the ••• (ellipsis icon) next to your post. Navigate to "Share," enable Google Search Console, and save.

    Same result, different path.

Why This Beats the Old Way

Before this integration, you'd have to log into Google separately and either submit a new sitemap or manually tell it about each new page. Not fun. Not efficient.

This method takes two seconds and happens right where you're already working.

    The Bottom Line

If you're putting in the effort to write long-form content, make sure it actually gets found. This one small step can make a real difference in whether people discover your work or not.

Not a Fan of Writing? You've Got Options.

Look, writing long-form content isn't everyone's thing. We get it. Here's what you can do:

    1. Give it a shot yourself - Sometimes momentum builds once you start

    2. Use AI as a writing partner - More on this in a second

    3. Hire us to handle it - We'll take it off your plate entirely

    How We Approach Content Creation

We start with the outline, structure, and real-world stories. Then we use AI tools to refine the clarity and make sure our target audience can follow along easily.

But here's the key: we edit, we refine, we optimize for both humans and search engines. The AI doesn't think for us - it expands what we can do so we spend more brainpower on strategy and less on the mechanical stuff.

Then we optimize for SEO and AIO (AI Overviews), proof everything, and make sure it sounds like you/your brand.

Think of AI like a really good assistant - it doesn't replace your thinking, it amplifies it. It handles the tasks that need doing but don't need your full attention, so you can focus on the parts that do.

(Yes, that's worth its own blog post. We'll get there.)
